The file you are trying to open is not a WordSmith Tools file. WordSmith makes files containing your results, files whose names end in .LST, .CNC, .KWS, etc. These are in WordSmith's own format and cannot be opened up by Microsoft Word -- likewise a plain text file or a Word .doc cannot usually be read in by WordSmith as a data file, but only as a text file for processing.
